DOVER — The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Jim and Pam Pidgeon, new owners of The Silver Fountain Inn, with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. Previously owned by the Chang family, Jim and Pam are maintaining the bed & breakfast while also opening the lovely Victorian home to the public as a Tea House for lunch and high tea.
The Silver Fountain Inn was built in 1871 and is a beautifully maintained Mansford style house with many grand architectural features such as Italian carved plaster ceilings, hand-painted trump l’oile canvas wallpaper, Honduran mahogany paneling, marble baseboards, French Caen sandstone fireplaces and parquet floors, leaded glass windows, Austrian hand-cut crystal doorknobs and Belgium light fixtures.
Home to the Williams family for nearly a century, its elegant design remains an excellent example of the post-Civil War era.
The enchanting atmosphere is the ideal location for private parties and catered functions such as wedding and baby showers, anniversary parties, Christmas and holiday parties, bereavement luncheons, rehearsal dinners and intimate weddings. They are also a charming place to honeymoon, babymoon, celebrate an anniversary or to just have that romantic getaway.
The Pidgeons and their talented staff create an environment that is both elegant and comfortable. Each of the nine rooms feature their own private bath and unique design theme, with a pampering full breakfast that will delight the senses. Please look for upcoming package specials that include Murder Mystery weekends, Wine Tasting, and Tea Parties. For additional information please call 603-750-4200 or visit their website atwww.silverfountain.com.
